St Pat’s Day Mantle

st pats st pats 2 st pats 3 st pats 2011

As you can see I had 2 helpers as I folded the green velvet for the mantle.

Oh so sweet, butter wouldn’t melt………….

You may have noticed I didn’t write ‘Happy’ St Pat’s Day. Well it’s not really a happy day as we watch what’s happening in Japan. I really had to push myself to do today’s mantle, everything seems so trivial at the moment, but I went ahead & I have an idea for a new mantle quite soon.

Love this mantle piece Jan! Makes me wish we had a mantle piece!
Pleased to see you went ahead with it, trivial or not, it helps to keep one sane and looking to the future.
My heart goes out to all those affected by the various disasters we've this year. Let's hope there are no more to follow.

Thanks Sweet Pea, I felt afterwards trivial was the wrong word & I hope I didn't offend anyone. What we do with our craft & decorating is not trivial it's a way of life that brings us so much pleasure so couldn't possibly be considered trivial.
I think it was more a feeling of guilt that I was lucky enough to be able to do this when others have lost their homes.
Thanks again. :-)
